Errol Flynn began to dabble in opium in the late 1940's after telling his second wife that he wanted to experience everything in life and Flynn quickly became a full-blown addict. This opium addiction and the effects of Flynn's alcohol problem contributed to his premature death in 1959. He was only fifty years old when he died.
