For his 2004 movie The Chronicles of Riddick, Vin Diesel really wanted Judi Dench to play Aereon the Elemental and went to great lengths to reach her. Diesel is a long-time fan of Dench, he had her dressing room filled with bouquets of flowers and told her that they couldn't start casting the movie until she agreed to the role.
